Your Tour at a Glance
Tour Activity Level
The activity level for this tour:
You’re a leisurely traveler. You typically take it easy and discover the energy of a new place by people-watching or soaking in the atmosphere at a local café. You can climb at least one flight of stairs, board a coach, and walk unassisted at a relaxed pace for up to 60 minutes without difficulty. You can easily handle altitudes up to 5,000 feet.
You like a balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour, covering up to two miles (with included breaks). You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. There may be 1 to 2 days on this tour when walking tours can cover 3 to 4 miles over uneven terrain. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet.
You’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (2-3 hours) isn’t a big deal. A moderately paced two-and-a-half-hour walking tour, covering several miles, hills, and uneven surfaces, is no problem for you. Walking four miles over the course of a day is very doable, as is climbing into and out of various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.). You can climb three flights of stairs easily and handle altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet. Expect some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. This level is not a fit for travelers who require mobility assistance devices.
You’re ready to seize the day, whatever it may bring. You lead an active life at home (walking, biking, and half or full day hikes are things you may enjoy) and 10,000 steps a day is normal for you. You can handle longer walking tours (more than 3 hours covering 3+ miles at a steady clip) and activities that involve traversing uneven terrain, steep slopes, standing for periods of time, and varying altitudes and temperatures. You don’t mind being on the go with some early starts, late-nights, and full days. You can handle altitudes of 9,000 feet or higher with little to no issue. This level is not appropriate for travelers who use wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility assistance devices.

Trip Rating:My favorite memorable experience -- and it's almost impossible to choose a favorite -- was sitting at the edge of the desert camp and watching the sunset over the dunes of the Sahara. Such a peaceful setting gave me time to reflect the past days' experiences in amazing Morocco.

Trip Rating:The Sahara Desert was peaceful and relaxing. The visit to the Berber family was very interesting. The mountain scenery was spectacular! There was a lot to see and do , however, there was limited time to explore the souks and experience a unique aspect of the country. The bus driver was excellent!
Thank you for your review! We look forward to traveling with you again soon.

Trip Rating:Fantastic small group Exploration experience in Morocco with Collette. Our tour manager was efficient, personable, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The places we explored were incredible and interesting. We felt so welcome everywhere. Accommodations were spot on for the type of tour - unique to the area, clean and comfortable, not luxurious but nice. Tented camp in the Sahara Desert was an experience - mainly because of the sandstorm that left us stuck in our stifling hot tent for hours. All part of the true Moroccan adventure!
We are pleased to hear you had a great time on our Colors of Morocco tour! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us, we hope to see you again soon!

This tour exceeded my expectations in this regard. A huge part of it was thanks to the tour manager, Yassine Aballouche. He is a rare gem. Trip Rating:I feel that we could spend more time in historic sites, Roman Ruins, The Hassan II Mosque museum, skip the Mural of the Bab Mansour gate on the 1st optional tour with longer time on the carriage ride thru Marrakech on 2nd optional tour both of which did not reach expectations. Chosen locations for scheduled events were outstanding. Rachid enhanced our vacation with local history plus stories/tales of locales and herded our gaggle of americans thru many twists turns in the kasbah and over the wonderful dunes of the wilderness without a single mishap. I will certainly recommend this tour to the members of our travel club

Trip Rating:Our tour manager Mohammed Merri was the best one we’ve ever had, and we’ve traveled a lot! Knowledge, language skills, empathy, flexibility, people skills all top-rate! He could easily be a diplomat in Morocco! Excellent. Brilliant to have a tour of a winery early in the tour! Alcohol not easy to come by in a Muslim country otherwise. Desert camp was great experience! Loved the involvement of the Amal NPO, and luncheon. I really liked the tour manager tipping all who needed tipping—this is an awkward and difficult thing especially if small bills are unavailable. I suggest everyone download the app Maps.me to give everyone confidence negotiating the souks in free time.

Trip Rating:The tour itinerary was nearly perfect. All logistics were well organized. But the best part of the trip was the excellence provided by Yassine Aballouche.
-
Trip Rating:Yassine was extremely knowledgeable and provided us with a sensitive nuanced explanation of his culture. I have never ever come back from a tour feeling I know as much about being there. Yassine is a rare gem. My only suggestion is to shorten the time in the desert to one day. I will admit I was a little anxious when I was in the Fez Suq which of course is increased in these days of COVID-19.
-
-
Very well prepared for the tour
-
Trip Rating:The service was great. By insuring the guide was well trained he could answer any questions asked. I became sice on the tour and he made sure that I was well enough to travel with the group.
-
Trip Rating:Seeing the desert and the camel rides were things I wont forget. The hotel accomodaations were great

M 5th trip with Collette and the best adventure yet!!
-
Trip Rating:Collette really outdid themselves finding superb accommodations, restaurants, local guides and most importantly an extremely competent, knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. The experiences they planned from a cooking lesson to glamping in the desert were most enjoyable. The bus driver was friendly and attentive and we felt safe and well-cared for the entire 10 days. Loved this trip and highly recommend it as a grand adventure!!
-
Trip Rating:A grand adventure...glamping in the desert, camel ride, cooking class, delicious food, visit with a nomad family, Marrakech by Night are just a few highlights.

Exceptional Cultural Tour
-
Trip Rating:It was an excellent tour of Morocco! Great guide, interesting learning experiences, and a very well organized format. Certainly learned a lot about the culture and history of this North African country. I brought home many wonderful memories.
-
Trip Rating:The Sahara Desert experiences were amazing! Other highlights included the Amal Cooking School, the Argon Oil Women’s Cooperative, the tours of the medinas, the music performance at the school in the desert, the ceramics factory, and the horse and carriage ride. It was wonderful to gain in-depth knowledge about the history, culture, artifacts, and people to help us truly understand this interesting country. All memorable experiences to last a lifetime.

Making Wonderful Memories
-
Trip Rating:I was very happy with my Collette Morocco Tour. As a retired history teacher I was thrilled with all the historical and cultural aspects of the trip. Most memorable was our Saharan Excursion as well as the time spent with the Bedouin family. Since returning home and reviewing my over 2000 pictures and 35 videos, I have enjoyed remembering the great food, warm welcoming smiles and many cultural eye-opening moments!
-
Trip Rating:I covered this above in the review
-
-
-
Trip Rating:Well-organized with visits to many places around the country to give tourists an overview of Morocco’s rich history and culture.
-
Trip Rating:Loved the tour, the people and the places.

Trip Rating:Well organized trip, and staying at top rated hotels. Guide was well informed. Would definitely be traveling with Collette again.
-
Trip Rating:top of the line, well organized trip

Worthwhile and fun experience
-
Trip Rating:All guides had great knowledge and were friendly and fun. We got to places like the tile co-op and fossil museum that we would never have found on our own. Also made it out of the medinas thanks to our guides.
-
Trip Rating:Many exotic places like tile co-op, traditional farm, but best of all was camel ride in the desert.
-
-
Wonderful experience!
-
Trip Rating:Terrific local guide. He was so knowledgeable and managed the group well. We saw most of the highlights and I know it takes so much more time to know a country, but we learned so much including the cuisine in 10 days. I loved the desert experience. It is so vast and we were not even in the most remote parts.
-
Trip Rating:The Sahara desert! Staying in comfortable and big tents we had all the important things—shower, toilet, and more room than in hotels.
-
-
-
Trip Rating:The tour was fantastic. More than I imagined.
-
Trip Rating:The desert experience was so wonderful. The sunrises, sunsets....just everything. Loved Marrakesh as well.
-
-
It was rated a 4 & that may scare some people away. It should be rated a 3
-
Trip Rating:Morocco was my very favorite tour out of 20. The tour manager, local guides & transportation were great. The camel experience was very memorable. I did not like flying to Detroit & then to Paris. I was worried about the food & there were no problems. The desert stay & all hotels were unique.
-
Trip Rating:I mentioned many positives earlier. The fossil place was super.
-
-
an enriched well organized tour
-
Trip Rating:Service was very good, tour manager was knowledge, polite and helpful.
-
Trip Rating:Flights were poorly scheduled. More free time would have been appreciated. The best part was the sunset camel ride and camping in the Sahara.
-
-
It was a safe exposure to a different culture and topography.
-
Trip Rating:The general guide was excellent. Yes, I would travel with them again.
-
Trip Rating:The camel ride at sunset in the Sahara was unique and memorable.

-
Trip Rating:The tour guides were very, very good.
-
Trip Rating:It was fun and very educational.

Our experiences were many and varied.
-
Trip Rating:Our experiences were many and varied, from a Saturday flea market to camel riding in the desert to palaces, the culture of the medinas to a cooking school. We would never have seen these things on our own without our wonderful guides. Not only did we have an experienced Collette guide, but great city guides, especially Tahmi in Fes. They answered every question both about their country and their religion. The food was exceptional and we very much appreciated being taken to local places to eat for the non-included meals. We always felt comfortable in our surroundings and were well received by the Moroccan people. Our bus driver was excellent and we loved his helper, who helped us off and on the bus and dispensed hand sanitizers and water after each stop.
-
Trip Rating:Many and varied
-
-
Peak experiences of a lifetime
-
Exceptional Moroccan guides
-
Trip Rating:All our guides, particularly Khaled and Thamie were exceptional. They were well informed, answered all our questions and were so warm and accommodating. First rate!
-
Trip Rating:The tour of Morocco was thorough, fun and a little exhausting. Accommodations were very good, food was excellent and excursions were great. I loved the Riad in Fez, the nights in the desert and Marrakesh. My one and only complaint would be that in order to see everything, and at a slower pace, perhaps Collette could add a couple of days to the tour.
-
-
Excellent experience
-
Trip Rating:Service was excellent. All of our expectations were met or exceeded.
-
Trip Rating:Our tour guide was passionate and informative about all things Morocco. The highlight for us was the Marrakesh by night dinner.
-
-
Excessive bus travel
-
Trip Rating:It was an amazing trip to Morocco. Not enough time was spent in Casablanca. The bus transportation was excessive. Nit enough personal shopping time. All in all, I was happy to have had the opportunity to travel there
-
Trip Rating:Awesome tour guides throughout the trip
-
-
Excellent trip due to planning and tour guide.
-
Trip Rating:bus and driver, excellent, above average. Tour manager, Nori beyond excellent, very knowledgeable, kind, considerate, friendly , intelligent. Local guides also above average.
-
Trip Rating:Selection of hotels, quality of workers in the desert, good food, riding a camel, visiting a nomad family, Marrakesh market place. best dinner of all in Marrakesh, also the cooking class.
-
-
Fascinating locale, friendly and inspiring guides introduce you to Morocco.
-
Trip Rating:tour manager Nory was articulate and provided lots of knowledge and expertise on the sites/places we visited. He was very open and interested in ensuring we had a a fun and experienced Morocco from his native perspective. Local guide for Fez, Tamhe (sp?) was excellent. his knowledge of the Medina and getting us around was incredible. Really enjoyed both the tannery and weavers co-op. Very enjoyable time.
-
Trip Rating:Great sites from Hassan II to the casbah. The medina in FEZ was my favorite place with so many people, shops and experiences.
-
-
-
Trip Rating:Our guide was amazing, he was knowledgeable, easy to understand and well organized. He was able to use his contacts and experience to give us some special local experiences. The food was great. Some days were a bit long, with too long a wait before a lunch break. It was great to see the Sahara Desert, but the experience felt a bit Disney-like! Both shuttles (to and from the airport) could have been a little better. All of our accommodations were good. I especially liked the Rabat, and the hotel in Marrakesh. Though lovely, the interior of the Rabat was extremely dark at night, and could be a serious problem if there was an emergency in the middle of the night.
-
Trip Rating:Was a great opportunity to experience the culture of Morocco.
-
-
-
Trip Rating:Maho was very friendly, and easy to understand. Thought he did a great job of explaining about his country and culture. We had many wonderful experiences in Morocco.
-
Trip Rating:I am not sure if I could say there was just one experience that stood out in my memory..... I loved it all!!
-
-
Immerse yourself in Morocco's culture
-
Trip Rating:This was my first Collette tour. I have traveled with other companies in the past. Collette offered a more immersed experience with the culture. Our tour Director was amazing!! If you have a mediocre Director you have a mediocre tour. We got to see so many things off the beaten path. Morocco is a beautiful country and is well worth the travel.
-
Trip Rating:The 2 days in the Sahara Desert at camp were so cool! We got to see sun rise and set, eat Moroccan food, and have a camel ride.
-
-
Our guide was outstanding
-
Trip Rating:Collette is always well organized from the time you step off the plane till they return you to the plane. You can always count on them to be dependable
-
Trip Rating:Riding the camel was terrific. I didn’t think the tent accommodations were up to Collette’s standards. They weren’t very clean, they were hot, and I saw nicer ones in the area!!

Trip Rating:Our guide, Nory, was beyond belief! His philosophy of life, his kindness, care, intelligence, & attention to detail made this a trip of a lifetime for most of us.I have traveled to France, China, Sicily/Italy, and Morocco in the last 12 months with tour groups, and by far, Nory's guidance made Morocco the most outstanding experience.

Trip Rating:All the events were wonderful. Riding the camels was a time to remember, along with the lovely accommodations, fabulous artistic craftsmanship in tile, jewelry, leather, pottery, and architecture.

Amazing Morroco
-
Trip Rating:Air travel was one of the worst I have had on a tour. Requested isle seating, global entry and frequent flyer miles. Provided information. All ignored. For the price of the tour I expected more. Pretrip info was off... told to bring converter and did not need it. Told to bring warm clothes for desert, including gloves, etc. Didnt need it. Should have been advised to bring more sani wipes, etc . . . We spent a lit of time in the bus getting from one location to another. Tour guide was exceptional. Best I have ever had. Tour itself was amazing. Airplane ride home left a pretty bad memory for me.

Morocco was wonderful1
-
Trip Rating:The tour guide was excellent. The hotels were in great locations and very nice, unique. The pace of the tour was action packed. We saw a large variety of Morocco's terrain and people. It was a fun filled trip.

Trip Rating:Camping in the Sahara tents.

Trip Rating:I loved my Collette tour. All services were high quality, from the hotels to the food, to the experiences such as our Moroccan cooking class. Bus accomodations and driver were excellent. Our tour manager, Yassine, was excellent; he provided both cultural and political information and was there for any and all problems.
-
Trip Rating:The entire trip was fantastic. However, the airline routing home was inexcusable. We had four different flights and short connections. This should have been routed home in much the same manner as our initial flight. My favorite experience was learning to make Moroccan pastilla. Or maybe riding the camel. Or driving through the Atlas mountains. Or visiting the Medina of Fes. Truly hard to pick.

Trip Rating:Touring the medina in Fez was fascinating. Klamping in the desert was an amazing experience! Beautiful country.

-
Certainly not my best Collette trip.
-
Trip Rating:I never rated Collette as a one star.
-
Trip Rating:None, It was disappointing. Although we tipped the guide, he was really lacking a warm personality. I have been traveling for 50 years and have taken Collette a number of times and liked them. Not so much this time. I have been to times before this tour, and really enjoyed the country. The time in the desert was miserable. Black tents made it really bad. Not even a fan to move thee air around Everyone suffered, not just us. We were served tangine every day. All around the food "sucked".
Thank you for traveling with Collette to Morocco. We're sorry to hear you felt the tour was lacking in certain areas. A member of the Guest Relations Team will be reaching out to discuss your comments.

A dream come true.
-
Trip Rating:The tour was excellent, we saw so much and our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Zafir genuinely cares about his country and it's history, I felt safe in the coach because our driver was so experienced. I have been dreaming of a trip to Morocco for 30 years and this tour was an excellent introduction. I can't wait to go back. There were a few hiccups with pick up at the airport and a missed flight on our return to Atlanta, but overall it was a dream come true for me.
-
Trip Rating:My favorite experience was the trek to the desert camp, I could have stayed there for another night or two, it was sublime. Second favorite was the hotel in Fes and exploring the Medina.
-
-
-
Trip Rating:My arrangements were made through an organizer from the UU Church of Venice, FL, and it was sometimes difficult to get information from Collette about what I owed, and travel plans, since I was a late add-on. Overall, everything worked out. I missed the first night dinner, since my plane came in later than the others, but a ride was arranged for me, and my meal was brought to my hotel room. Our guide was knowledgeable and very helpful.
-
Trip Rating:The itinerary flowed well, and included lots of interesting places in Morocco. I especially enjoyed the sunset camel ride in the Sahara sand dunes to the tent cabins. The food agreed with me, and the cooking class was fun. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Morocco March/April 2019
-
Trip Rating:The trip itself was wonderful - our guide was the best and the things we got to see and do were great. Our return flight arrangements left much to be desired - we had one 12 hour layover and then a 10 hour layover. If Collette had made our flight arrangements in a more timely fashion we could have avoided the 10 hours in the Minneapolis airport by flying into Salt Lake City instead. That is the only reason this trip lost a star.
-
Trip Rating:The tour was wonderful. My only complaint was flight arrangements for our return home. Our hotels were in general excellent - the one in Casablanca was not the greatest. Our room was good - some were not - and the location was sort of sketchy.
-

Everything was perfect. We want to tour with Collette again to Senegal.

awesome in every way!
-
Trip Rating:Totally awesome trip. Everything was beyond my expectations - hotels, inclusions, and our tour guide, whose knowledge, personality and professionalism were amazing. The places we visited, the culture, the architecture and the people were beautiful.
-
Trip Rating:The Sahara - camel ride, sunset and sunrise, food, amazing accommodations, camel guides, drummers (who were extremely gracious and fun) and above all the serenity and beauty of the desert.

-
Trip Rating:The places you chose were all fantastic All the hotels are excellent. Your local guide Mr. Radius es Elauam was one of the best guide who are very knowledgeable about his country. I learned a lot about Morocco through him.

My Magical Journey to Morocco

-
Trip Rating:Connecting flight from California to the flight leaving Paris was scheduled for one hour turn around. we had 30 minutes to get to the next plane. The only reason we made it was because I gave a large tip to a wheelchair operator to get us to the next plane. One hour is unacceptable to get to the next plane at an European airport. 30 minutes is ridiculous. I give you 0 stars for that type of connection.
-
Trip Rating:Because of the bad flight connection.
Thank you for traveling with Collette to Morocco. Please accept our sincere apology for the unnecessary stress you experienced due to the connection time in Paris. Trip Rating:Transportation itself was good, but the pick-up and drop-off was very confused and caused a great of lost time!

Trip Rating:Hotel in Casablanca was not of the caliber we would prefer, however the location was very good.

Great trip in Morocco. Awful US service.
-
Trip Rating:MOROCCO: The trip itself in Morocco was very good. The Trip Leader/Guide, Zahir, was EXCELLENT. What we saw and our experiences were Very Good to Excellent. The hotel in Casablanca was only fair, but conveniently located. The other hotels were good to excellent. ------------- UNITED STATES: The US handling of the trip was at best good, but parts of this were only fair and even UNACCEPTALBE!. Changing our pre-trip pick-up and post-trip drop-off locations at the last minute is unacceptable! This was made even worse by not informing us! We waited for pick-up at the agreed upon site and the lemo driver went to the different site provided by Collette. It took several phone calls and an hour to get picked-up. On our late night return, and unbeknownst to us, the lemo driver tried to drop us at the changed site that would have left us with no means to get home. (Another traveler had the same awful experience) Your website lacks any information about each traveler's trip cost and balances owed. The pre-trip briefing for our group was poor - we knew more about our trip than the Collette person giving the briefing.
-
Trip Rating:I just did. Trying to shift responsibility for your office mucking up aspects of our travel adds a very negative impression of your US Office service!
Thank you for the additional feedback. Our Logistics Team will review this situation and a member of the Guest Relations Team will follow up with you.

A Memorable Trip
-
Trip Rating:The tour was extensive, a parade of sights, sounds and flavors. The bus was new and clean. Our tour guide Abdul Aziz was excellent, very knowledgeable. Abdul, our driver was also great. His assistant Idris was most helpful. The hotels were fine. The negatives were that the Casablanca hotel was in a neighborhood that was a bit sketchy but acceptable. The bus had neither the promised toilet or wifi. Charging stations would have been helpful. We skipped Meknes.
-
Trip Rating:The most memorable event in a trip full of memories was the camel ride to our luxury campground. The musicians were a treat.
-
-
Amazing tour of Morocco.
-
Trip Rating:The Colors of Morocco tour was fabulous. Our tour guide was on of the best we have ever had. The tour covered all that was promised but our guide made every stop memorable. My only complaint was in arranging the flights. Collette did a poor job of selecting and confirming the flights. It took three months to get confirmation of anything regarding our flight arrangements.
-
Trip Rating:The tour was first rate. We had a wonderful tour guide. He was knowledgeable and articulate as well as funny. His assistant and bus driver did an awesome job as well. Besides all the historical and cultural information Rad provided us with visits to the homes of some residents that added another layer of understanding to our knowledge base of Moroccan culture. It seemed that our guide knew people everywhere. From food and shopping to history and culture hew knew someone that could make the experience unique.

-
Trip Rating:When you call and ask questions that they get answered and not given to several people. Also I was given incorrect information on several occasions. The problem ws the pre trip experience. Air fare was not what we requested and they waited until the last minute to book seats.I had to spend hours on the phone getting them to change the flight as we would have missed the first day event if we would have kept it. (Not the way we travel) Then we had to call and book the coming home seats at a cost of $60 phone charges. The trip and our guide was fantastic. The actual experience and guide in Morocco were fabulous . I would never book air fare through Collette again.
-
Trip Rating:Sleeping out in the dessert and the camel ride was an amazing experience.

-
Trip Rating:Absolutely HATED the flights and seat(s) selection. On the return flight from Paris to ATL, I have the window seat right in front of the toilet. In the future, I will book my own flights. Our tour guide was exceptional. Moving every day from hotel to hotel was a bummer...

Trip Rating:Too much time spent in places that were trying to sale their products and not enough free time to enjoy the nice hotels accommodations and on the return trip they took us to the airport 6 hours before our flight and we could not check in and there wre limited seating
-
Trip Rating:The tour was good and the Camel ride in the desert and overnight stay was wonderful
-
-
It was a wonderful & exhilarating trip. We will do it again.
-
Trip Rating:The service was very responsive whenever there was an issue to resolve. Even when I missed a function on the trip due to sickness, Collette reimbursed in full without having to resort to the trip insurance.
-
Trip Rating:It was a fantastic trip and the only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is b/c the hotel in Casablanca & its location were substandard. I am sure you heard the same feedback from others and it should be corrected for future trips. The guide (Radouan) was super talented, courteous, energetic, patient and well informed. His driver, Mo, was equally as skilled in his trade; however, the bus did not have WiFi as promised. Other than that every aspect of the trip was superb. The rest of the hotels, restaurants, and side trips were tops. The camel ride through sections of the Sahara and the overnight stay in a luxurious tent were wonderful experiences that we will never forget.
-
-
-
Trip Rating:I would have given 4 stars except the buses we not equipped with bathrooms or WIFI. The bus was new but not equipped with bathrooms or WIFI??? Our tour operator, Zahir, was fabulous.....5 stars for him!! Great personality and great knowledge of the places we visited.
-
Trip Rating:The most memorable experience on this tour was the camel ride and encampment. It was GREAT!
-
-
Don’t use Collette, you’ll regret it!
-
Trip Rating:This was the worst trip we have ever taken. The quality of the food and hotel stays were awful, and for four days out of the tour I was sick from the food. The tour was unnecessarily long. There should be more quality than quantity. There was too much hopping from one hotel to the next. After the fourth day it all started looking the same. We felt cheated even more by the extra stay tagged on at the end in Casablanca. An extra day in a crappy city made me cry. AND we could have had a shorter flight with a different route. I would have preferred paying extra to fly more direct than pay for the extra tortuous day there. This is, without exaggeration, my worst, most regrettable trip anywhere.

Beautiful country, people .....needed more in-depth tour guide interaction
-
Trip Rating:The overall tour, cities, most lodgings, and sites visited were very good, and I felt representative of the country. We did, however, have a last minute change of tour managers, which was never told to us. Sadly, this did become readily apparent tho' with many things he did not do or accomplish. We have been on many other guided tours with other companies (our first with Collette), and all of those tour guides were so much better at getting the groups acquainted (initial meet and greet, which Hicham, our Moroccan guide never did). Other tours also gave much better in-depth and lengthy information about the country, people, customs, religion, govt, etc. than Hicham. Especially on long bus travel days, Hicham did very little to explain the areas we were going through, etc. Also, even though we were a small group (20), invariably, any information he may give was only heard by those people immediately next to him - if you happened to be at the outer portion of the group, you did NOT hear what he was talking about. (No headsets were ever given out - not sure if Collette uses them) Hicham also wasn't very alert to everyone in the group (remember, only 20 people!), and at one point, going through the maze of alleys in the Medina (no actual signs at doorways to determine what is a residence or something else), 3 of us were left behind while the rest of the group entered one of these doorways. We were on our own for at least 15 minutes before he noticed we were missing! He, and also Collette, in general was negligent with the needs of one of our group who was vegetarian. She said she had notified Collette prior to the tour, and also Hicham, about her dietary preferences; but on more than one occasion, she wound up with either no meal, or one that was cobbled together and given to her later than everyone else, and we were now finished eating! Kudos, however to our wonderful, expert bus driver, Hocin, and his helper, Mohammed. They were always very courteous, helpful, and Hocin's driving, especially through the Tizi n Tichka Pass (a mind boggling switchback road through the High Atlas Mountains), put our minds at ease. Our lodging, for the most part, was excellent, especially Kasbah Xaluca in Errachidia. This truly was an oasis! Beautiful rooms, surroundings (views of the upcoming desert), and buffet food varieties for both breakfast and dinner. Would have loved to stay there an extra night, just to do nothing and lounge around the pool! One of our hotels, though, could have used some extra attention, or possibly even a different venue. At Riad Yacout, in Fes, the actual riad was very old, and extremely well done with visual upkeep. However, being so old, the main rooms' heating and hot water in our private rooms needed improvement. We were there 2 nights, and for all the time we were there, the majority of rooms had very little to no hot water for showering. The main meeting areas had free standing heaters; but it was still chilly there. Also, Hicham advised us to NOT leave the building and wander about on our own at night in Fes - he would not even do it! Not sure if this were a blanket statement of Fes, or just this area we were in...maybe a different location would have been better? The hosts and staff, however, were very nice and attentive. I felt the highlight of the trip was the camel trek and night spent in the desert! The camels were mild mannered, and their Berber handlers were excellent! The accommodations were not anything one would expect out in the desert - a flush, indoor toilet, and an indoor shower with plenty of HOT water! Watching the sun set on the dunes was a special treat! Have many wonderful pictures of this special area. So, all in all, loved the country and its many, varied sights; but would have felt a closer knowledge of this land and its people if our tour guide had been more in tune with our group.
-
Trip Rating:The country, people and areas we toured were very nice, and i felt representative of the country. However, as i mentioned elsewhere, our tour manager was substituted, last minute, and we were never told about this. This still would have been fine, if Hicham were a "best trained and most experienced Manager in the industry", as Collette advertises. Unfortunately, this proved to not be true; and I feel much information that could have been given by him, was not, and this made knowing about Morocco less personal. We did have one stand-out local guide in Fes, also named Hicham (2), who was EXCELLENT! If this person is not on Collette's payroll, he certainly deserves to be...he was personable, intelligent, humorous, and totally engaging with our group - everything our regular tour manager was not! I actually had 2 favorite memorable experiences - staying at Kasbah Xaluca, Errachidia, and our camel trek and stay in the desert. Kasbah Xaluca was a dream location - the accommodations were excellent, the staff friendly and helpful, and the breakfast and dinner buffets varied and delicious! Would have loved to stay there an extra day to just lounge around the pool! The camel trek was everything I had dreamed it would be - Mild natured camels, excellent Berber handlers who were very friendly and helpful, and surprising accommodations - who would expect indoor flush toilets and showers with hot water out in the desert. The surrounding dunes were a photographer's dream! Will always have fond memories of both these places!

Trip of a lifetime
-
Trip Rating:Knowledgable guide, new bus with wi-fi (gotta email those pictures home!), top notch accommodations, but best of all were the experiences we had on this trip.
-
Trip Rating:If I am forced to pick only one then I have to go with the camel ride into the desert and the overnight stay in the luxury tents. Singing and dancing with the Berbers around the campfire was the perfect end to this evening.

Trip Rating:They were always available to answer any concerns I had regarding the trip and very pleasant at the same time. It was my first trip with Collette and I was very impressed by the level of service. Will definitely do another tour with Collette!
-
Trip Rating:The entire tour was great and well put together to highlight different aspects of Morocco, it’s people and culture. The most memorable experience would be the overnight trip in the Sahara desert.....it was amazing!!!

Would recommend!
-
Trip Rating:Our tour guide **** was great! There were a few hickups along the way. Our arrival was confusing as the instructions for finding our driver were not clear. More that one exit at the airport and of course he was not at the door we came out of and we had to walk around the outside of the airport to find him. In hindsight not a big deal, at the time it was a little disconcerting. Our driver did not interact with us on the drive to the hotel, the plan said we would stop and visit the large Mosque, that did not happen.
-
Trip Rating:Riding a camel in the Sahara Dessert! Wow! Recommendation would be to provide more dessert experiences, dune buggy, sand surfing, we could have gone out to dessert earlier and done more. The overnight accommodations in the dessert could be improved, nothing fancy needed, more blankets, fire pit should have been kept going and lit again in the morning as it was quite cold.
-
-
-
Trip Rating:Collete's customer service is very accommodating, and able to answer all questions.

Trip Rating:Morocco is a beautiful country, with very interesting history. The tour was well paced, and activities chosen gave a great overview of the country.

Not happy with this tour
-
Trip Rating:Not great. I paid for a transfer from Morocco airport to the hotel. Had to wait over one hour because they were waiting for three other people. I could have taken a cab instead of paying for a transfer. I should have been told that it was not a private transfer.
-
Trip Rating:Camel ride was fun. However, desert camp was billed as "luxury". It was NOT! Plus my toilet didn't flush and they said they fixed it...it wasn't fixed. The tank was not filling up with water. Flies all over the food in the morning.
-
-
-
Trip Rating:Busy and interesting sights every day Liked the visits to private homes where not that many tourist go to
-
Trip Rating:Neither Redlands, our guide nor the bus driver helped the passengers getting off the bus: steep steps and sometime the ground was uneven stepping off the bus.

Diverse and interesting tour.
-
Trip Rating:The tour covered a lot of territory and there were many experiences I was introduced to. The tour manager was excellent with good English skills and was very informative while we were on the bus traveling.
-
Trip Rating:The medina in Fes was like stepping back in time. Collette's air department arranged all my airfare and got me to Morocco a day late so I completely missed out on the tour of Casablanca. I'm quite angry about that and feel cheated out of the complete experience of the tour.

Morocco is amazing; wish I had had more time to savor the experiences.
-
Trip Rating:Morocco is a magnificent place. Felt that there was too much packed into too little time. A number of us felt that either something should be cut or the tour extended a couple of days. Just felt rushed and unable to process and enjoy what I was seeing, including some of the beautiful hotels. Loved every place we visited. Longed for more time in Fez. The desert experience was fantastic. The last hotel in Marrakech where we stayed for three days was very disappointing: no wifi in the rooms and we ordered room service one night which was not very good at all. I was sick for a few days and our guide was very thoughtful and made sure we stopped at a pharmacy so I could get what I needed. He was very informed and thoughtful and kind. Again. Morocco is an amazing, beautiful, exotic place.
-
Trip Rating:The camel ride and night in the desert; walking the medina in Fez.

-
Morocco was far more interesting than I anticipated.
-
Trip Rating:An excellent tour, mainly because of an excellent tour guide. The places and experiences were similar to other tours we have taken, but the guide made this exceptional. Use him again.
-
Trip Rating:Staying in the Erfoud hotel--so unique and interesting. The best themed hotel with unique decor in the room. Also, staying in the tent in the desert--no experience quite like it!
-
-
The trip of a lifetime; not to be missed.
-
Trip Rating:Very well-done. Our guide, assistant, and bus driver were all very helpful and knowledgeable. The trip was the right combination of history, relaxation, shopping, meeting people who live there. We had one problem at the beginning of our trip: no one was at the Casablanca airport to meet us, even though we had purchased transfers and were told someone would be there to take us to the hotel.
-
Trip Rating:I will never forget dancing around the fire ring in the desert after our camel ride over the dunes.
-
-
Camel ride and night spent in the desert was the highlight of the trip
-
Trip Rating:Tour guide was very professional and knowledgeable. Travel sites were educational and interesting. Enjoyed the connection and participation with locals e.g. The lunch/tagine we helped prepare with the Berber family.

Morocco should be on everyone's 'bucket list'!
-
Trip Rating:Morocco was a delightful surprise, with beautiful mosques and palaces, and so many interesting cities with kasbahs and medinas. There were green terraced fields, oases, the pass through snow-capped mountains, the red dunes of the Sahara, and occasionally, rocky barren stretches between cities. Our camel trek, and the night in a Berber tent under a star-filled sky was unforgettable! We explored Ksar Ait Ben Haddou was it so interesting. People were friendly, and we had an excellent guide who helped us learn about the history and culture of Morocco. The food was fresh and good, and we stayed in some amazing riads and great hotels.
-
Trip Rating:There were many favourite experiences: dinner at Rick's Cafe (spectacular!), visiting the Roman ruins of Volubilis, seeing the tanneries, Medersa Bou Inania, taking the camel ride and spending the night in the Sahara, visiting the bakery, seeing Todra Gorge, exploring Ait Ben Haddou, taking the cooking class at Kasbah Omar, and exploring all the ksour and the different medinas in each city. The cities were so interesting and we loved Fes and Marrakech. The visit to the pharmacy was really interesting as well. This was one of our favourite trips, and we all enjoyed our guide's sense of humour and knowledge. We were not disappointed.

Good service by Collette CA
-
Trip Rating:We booked through a travel agent but there were no problems

Traveling with Collette is simply easy!
-
Trip Rating:I love everything about booking trips with Collette. I love that I don't have to do any research about which sites should be included in my itinerary. I love that I don't have to find reservations at acceptable hotels. I love that I can just get on the coach and let someone else worry about directions and traffic! Traveling with Collette is simply easy!
-
Trip Rating:This was one of my favorite destinations. We visited many interesting sites but probably my favorite thing about the tour was that I felt like I learned a lot about the culture and the people as well as the country. We visited in three homes and I loved the experience of seeing what their homes look like and what their daily life is truly like. The camel ride and spending the night in the desert had to be the highlight of the trip! How can you describe seeing the sand dunes and beautiful scenery that can't be seen from the road!
